Reverence - slowing into sacred
This collection was born in the desert, before red canyon walls drenched gold in the sun. Inspired by wanderings among sandstone cliffs and silty riverbeds, their beauty slowing my usually hurried pace. Sketched on scraps of paper on an endless expanse of dusty gravel roads spinning out from our small van we call home. Then, slowcrafted in the East. In a small mountain cabin. Under the thrum of storming skies. In Summer, the season of growth and abundance.
The Wave cuff is inspired by a forest bathing journey and the wisdom that poured in as I sat in a small yurt on the side of a mountain. Authored by the mystery and gratefully accepted and recorded by me: Breathe. With each inhale, allow your breath to deepen. With each exhale release. Expand your breath. Into your belly. Your organs. Muscles. Bones. Cells. Breathe and feel your breath expand to the outer edges of your skin. On your next inhale, watch as your breath arcs like a wave through your whole body then crashes out, over your skin, flowing back into the space around your body. Did you know, before now, you are a wave? Keep breathing, wave after gorgeous wave. Now, follow your breath into the air around you. Notice, each living thing is its own wave. Every person, a wave. Each animal and tree. Do you see the ocean? Can you find yourself here? A wave among an ocean of waves. Did you know, before now, you are the ocean? A single drop. And the whole.
Each Wave cuff is crafted with intention from solid brass or sterling silver and bathed in a patina to reflect the spectrum of each metal’s range- from the glowing gold of an August sunset to the black silhouette of moon-cast shadow.
Size:
Each cuff is appx. 2 1/2” wide by 1 3/4” deep. Cuffs can be gently adjusted to form to the size of your wrist, but please be careful not to bend the cuff out of shape.
Tips:
The patina will deepen with age. If you wish to restore the gold luster of brass or shine of silver, polish using a high quality polishing cloth safe for use on brass and silver.
