This collection was born in the desert, before red canyon walls drenched gold in the sun. Inspired by wanderings among sandstone cliffs and silty riverbeds, their beauty slowing my usually hurried pace. Sketched on scraps of paper on an endless expanse of dusty gravel roads spinning out from our small van we call home. Then, slowcrafted in the East. In a small mountain cabin. Under the thrum of storming skies. In summer, the season of growth and abundance.
The Portal necklace was inspired by a particular sandstone arch in Moab, Utah. For when you stand at the threshold. Letting the wind blow through you. Preparing to leap. Wondering, what and who will you shed? And what, who. of this world will come with you? Souls, tethered by a thread too golden to become anything but ever strengthened, ever brighter, as you leap into the great mystery of flame.
Each necklace is crafted with intention from solid brass and bathed in a patina to reflect the spectrum of this metal’s range- from the glowing gold of an August sunset to the black silhouette of moon-cast shadow.

Tips:
The patina will deepen with age. If you wish to restore the gold luster of brass, polish using a high quality polishing cloth safe for use on brass.
